 Here you can find plant portraits, which contain not only general information about the respective plant, but also information about the use in the relevant cultural context, healing properties, pharmacology, other uses, etc.. 

The plant portraits are not exhaustive presentations of an expert, but are the result of research on topics that interest me personally. All information is to be considered from this point of view. Efforts are made to research thoroughly, but errors or mistakes are reserved.

MURURÈ (Brosimum acutifolium)

Mururé is a tree species that occurs not only in Brazil but also in Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and the Guyanas. The bark of the tree is used in Brazilian folk medicine, among other things.

SARSAPARILLA (Smilax sp.)

Sarsaparilla is not only the name of certain plant species in the genus Smilax, but also the name of a formerly known sweetened drink.

SIBERIAN GINSENG (Eleutherococcus senticosus)

Siberian Ginseng is an adaptogen and is also used in Traditional European Medicine

TIAN MA (Gastrodia elata)

The tuber of this orchid is used in traditional Chinese medicine. The effect is described as analgesic, anticonvulsant and sedative. 

YERBA MANSA (Anemopsis californica)
